Who and What is a Writer

When I think of what a writer is I think of anyone who writes in their spare time or all the time, whether it be for fun or professionally. If you put a pen to a piece of paper or if you sit down at a computer and write anything, other than homework or something that is required than you are a writer. I consider a writer someone that takes their ideas and puts them down on a piece of paper or saves them in a file. You don't have to share your writing with anyone or you could share them with everyone! Although most would think that a writer is someone that gets paid for writing, I think that is more like an author. A writer can just jot down thoughts for the day, maybe in a diary, or express themselves in a poem or short story. Basically when I think of who a writer is, I think it could be anyone!

  1. I agree with you on this. There are so many different types of writers. The possiblities are endless. It's a means of communication and of self expression!
