Please write a bit about what you noticed in the movie of Bridget Jones versus the book. How did the director "forward" the book into the movie? Was it successful? Post your reactions/criticisms/favorite part:
I saw Bridget Jones Diary the movie before I read the book, so I already knew what the movie was like. I feel like me seeing the movie first and then reading the book gave me a different perspective than if it was the other way around. As i read the novel I related it back to what I had already seen, so I felt like the movie was actually pretty dead on. There were some parts that were over exaggerated to make up for some of the things in the book that they couldn't really add into the movie. Like the part where she falls down the firemans pole and her butt lands on the camera, in the book she didn't land on the camera. Its hard to completely express how neurotic she is in the book through the movie, so they added a couple extra parts to show how akward and completely mental she is. I felt they were sucessful in portraying the diary aspect by having narrated parts in the background, alot of diaries that get turned into movies like "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" lose the diary in the movie.

I like how the movie kept the diary narration too! I think it added well to the story/plot line.
